Covid-19 Proceedures. What to Expect at your first visit.



Under the most recent announcements from Mayor Hogsett, Evolve Salon will reopen on Monday, June 1st with strict sanitization and social distancing guidelines. We understand many have anxiety and fears regarding coming to the salon. Our plan to reopen takes into account all of those fears. If you are comfortable with the guidelines we have set, we welcome you and look forward to serving you. Our safety protocols incorporate standards set by the Indiana State Board of Cosmetology and the CDC to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases.  Sanitation is nothing new to us, we will just be adding additional steps to maximize everyone’s safety.

Please understand we are rebooking over a thousand missed appointments and are calling/texting all of our Evolve Salon family. We are not accepting walk-ins. All appointments will be scheduled and confirmed ahead of time. We have shut off online booking, until we can get caught up and have helped everyone who has missed an appointment.  Please feel free to leave a message at our salon phone 317-536-8658, with your name, stylist preference, and services needed. Your stylist will get back to you as soon as possible. We will respond as soon as we can.


Please bring your own mask. It is mandated by the Indiana State Board of Cosmetology all “clients should wear face masks to the extent possible while receiving services.” If you do not have a mask, they will be available for purchase for $2.00.

Please stay in your car with the air conditioning on, so we can measure the most accurate temperature reading. We are diligently working to sanitize all touchpoints between every guest.

Call the salon when you arrive for your appointment. Once your stylist is ready and their station is sanitized, we’ll call you back and greet you at the door to take your temperature and have you sign a service waiver confirming you can answer “no” to the following questions:

  • Have you had a cough?
  • Have you had a fever?
  • Have you been around anyone exhibiting these symptoms within the past 14 days?
  • Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?


After you have signed in the entry, and your stylist we ask that you wash your hands for 20 seconds per CDC guidelines before entering the salon.  We will have hand sanitizer at each station as well.



  1. Please stay home if you are or have been ill. Please call and leave a message, if no one answers, if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment. We encourage all of our team to stay home if they have felt ill as well.
  2. All employees will have their temperature measured with a non contact thermometer upon arrival to salon. Any employee registering a temperature above 99° will be sent home immediately.
  3. All employees will wear masks and have been provided face shields.
  4. Upon arrival for your appointment, guests will have their temperature taken with a non contact thermometer. Any guest with a temperature above 99° will not be permitted to receive services. Guests will also sign a waiver stating they have answered “no” to the following questions:


  • Have you had a cough?
  • Have you had a fever?
  • Have you been around anyone exhibiting these symptoms within the past 14 days?
  • Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?
  1. All guests must have on a mask/facial covering upon entering the salon. Please bring your own, if you do not have one, they will be available for purchase $2.00
  2. We ask that you limit the belongings you bring into the salon. i.e. purses, large bags.
  3. Stations in our salons are at least 6 feet from the next. We will only perform services at every other station, providing more than eight feet between any two active stations while lessening the number of stylists performing services.
  4. All stations, tools and shampoo bowls are sanitized with CDC-approved disinfectants between each guest.
  5. When shampooing or rinsing color, a clean towel will be placed over guests’ face.
  6. Our team washes their hands frequently, per the CDC guidelines of 20 seconds with soap, as well as between every guest and after removing gloves.
  7. Each guest will be given a fresh cape to wear during services.
  8. All linens and towels are laundered after a single use.
  9. All hard surfaces like door handles, telephones and reception counters are disinfected hourly, at a minimum, based on traffic.
  10. We will no longer be serving beverages or offering magazines.
  11. There is no waiting permitted in the lobby areas. Guests are to call the salon upon arrival. We will call you back when your stylist is ready for your appointment.
  12. All transactions will be processed as credit at your stylists station, we will not be asking you to sign the credit card voucher. Please do not bring cash.
  13. You may still add gratuity to your credit card. Our stylists will enter that information for you into our computer and bring you a receipt.
  14. We will refrain from handing out any appointment cards, referral cards or other marketing materials. We recommend  making your next appointment before you leave, to assure you a space.  Please be sure to add any future appointments to your calendar and our system will email or text you your appointments as is your preference.
  15. We will refrain from any contact greetings. We look forward to giving handshakes and hugs soon.
  16. Only those receiving services are allowed in the salon. Parents to minors should wait in their cars.
  17. Our staff has been retrained on essential infection control and hand hygiene practice.
  18. If you would like to make a retail purchase, please ask for assistance to limit contact with retail shelves.

With these guidelines and being closed for nearly three months, we have limited appointment availability. We are diligently working to open stylists’ books and stagger appointments to allow social distancing in the salons. Please be patient. We look forward to serving you, safely.
